All that glisters is not gold, [65]
Often have you heard that told.
Many a man his life hath sold
                               But my outside to behold.
                               Gilded timber do worms infold.
Had you been as wise as bold, [70]
Young in limbs, in judgement old,
Your answer had not been inscrolled.
Fare you well, your suit is cold.
                                                    Cold indeed, and labour lost.
Then farewell heat, and welcome frost. [75]
Portia, adieu, I have too grieved a heart
To take a tedious leave. Thus losers part.
Exit with his train. Flourish of cornets.
              PORTIA
A gentle riddance. Draw the curtains, go.
Let all of his complexion choose me so.
                                                                                                        Exeunt.
                                                  Scene VIII IT
                                               Enter Salerio and Solanio.
              SALERIO
Why, man, I saw Bassanio under sail,
               With him is Gratiano gone along;
And in their ship I am sure Lorenzo is not.
              SOLANIO
The villain Jew with outcries raised the Duke,
Who went with him to search Bassanio’s ship. [5]
              SALERIO
He came too late, the ship was under sail,
But there the Duke was given to understand
That in a gondola were seen together
