Piazza XIII Vittime
Piazza XIII Vittime is named for the five tall V-shaped steel plates that splinter out
of the ground, commemorating the officials who have lost their lives in Palermo’s
enduring struggle with the Mafia. The installation replaces a monument
commemorating thirteen citizens shot by the Bourbons in the 1860 revolt, which now
stands along Via Cavour.
